Topic: POPCORN, SHEEP, DUSTING- Recognizing and Overcoming Biases

Social Injustice is birthed through Bias. Bias against people, ideas and beliefs that are ‘different’ from our reality. And Bias for world views that align with
ours’. Unconscious, Conscious, Over or Covert. We believe the journey
towards Awake, Aware, Arise begins with us recognizing and overcoming
these biases within ourselves.

We share stories from our personal lives, of living and experiencing bias. We also highlight the criticality of a coach to overcome their personal biases first, before supporting the birth of awareness in their clients. We bring out the “asks” from Coaching professionals by ICF and MCC around equality in the Ethics of coaching. We share tools to recognize and address our own biases, and believe this could be one of the ways for us to contribute to individual and society through systemic change.

Swaroop is an emerging coach and an HR Professional with close to a
decade corporate experience. In the past, he held several roles as a Talent
Manager, HR Business Partner, Software Developer before moving to his
current role as a Global Rewards Business Partner for Schneider Electric’s
Middle East and Africa Zone.

Swaroop in an Engineer and holds a Post Graduate Degree in Management specializing in Human Resources and Strategy. He is a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming professional, certified in applying & analyzing Hogan Personality Assessments.
